Kip Tom is a seventh-generation Indiana farmer, pioneering agribusiness leader, and one of the nation’s most prominent advocates for pro-farmer trade policy. Tom was appointed by President Donald J. Trump, and confirmed by the United States Senate, to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Agencies and International Organizations (FAO) in Rome, Italy from 2019 to 2021. Currently, he is the Managing Member of Tom Farms LLC, the President of CereServ Inc., and private investor in multiple innovative agriculture ventures. In addition to being active in Agri-Business operations in Indiana, Tom is also Managing Member of GlobalAg LLC, a crop production consulting firm to various companies globally. He also is the newly appointed Chair of the Farmers First, Harvest and Rural Prosperity Agenda at the America First Policy Institute in Washington, DC.

While Ambassador to FAO, Tom prioritized President Trump’s “America First Agenda” by uncovering fraud, weaning developing nations off the constant cycle of humanitarian aid through development plans, and worked with USDA to increase trade exports. The Tom Family settled in Northern Indiana in 1837 on the same farmland operated by Tom Farms, today. Tom Farms LLC was established in 1952 and has grown to be one of the largest seed producers in the nation and one of the largest grain producers in the state of Indiana. In 2008, Tom expanded to develop CereServ Inc., which is one of the largest farmer-owned single site grain storage and processing plants in Indiana.

After expanding the farming operation and creating CereServ, Kip quickly became known as an early adopter of agriculture technology. Tom has served on multiple corporate boards and steered the future of agriculture technologies, while also consulting as a strategic advisor to agriculture globally. As a trailblazer in farming, Tom has made it his life’s mission to improve the United States agriculture and food system, and pass his family’s legacy down to his 5 children and 14 grandchildren. He is a firm believer in the American Dream and living proof it still exists.
