Benefits
CNFA’s mission is to improve livelihoods through enterprise-based solutions. We encourage the entrepreneurial spirit at all levels of our organization—a diverse team that includes development experts, experienced business owners, agronomists, and farmers.
The collective knowledge and commitment of the CNFA global team shapes and informs our work and drives our efforts to improve the well-being and livelihoods of smallholder farmers, entrepreneurs, women, youth, and children around the world.
We encourage each of our employees to participate across disciplines to make their own unique contributions towards fulfilling our shared goals. We provide not only a clear framework for long-term professional growth but also the flexibility for employees to branch out—whether in a new professional capacity or in a posting at one of our program offices overseas. Since 1985, this commitment to our employees has produced the fresh ideas necessary to serve our partners’ technical, managerial, and strategic needs in countries around the world.

CNFA invests in its people and our “People Motto” is that every person deserves the opportunity for a full, healthy life. Our goal is to ensure you have a competitive base salary. That’s why we regularly review the market value of jobs and make adjustments, as needed. Here are the main components of our total rewards package.
- Performance and Recognition– Performance is annually assessed formally during the performance review evaluation period. Employees are rewarded for achieving success in their role with a salary increase, at least annually.
- Benefits – We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, along with a robust retirement program that includes an employer contribution based on tenure. As a mark of our commitment to total employee well-being, we also offer an employee assistance program and an employee wellness program, including complimentary access to the Calm App, telemedicine, and medical consultation options, as well as complimentary access to the financial wellness program.
- Professional Development – You have the opportunity to join one of our various committees or participate in our professional mentoring program as either a mentor or mentee. Additionally, you will gain immediate access to our internal professional development training courses. After completing the probationary period, you will also be eligible for external professional development training.
- Work-Life Harmonization – We offer a minimum of 15 vacation days per year for new employees, with the number of days increasing based on your position and tenure. Additionally, you will accrue 10 sick leave days annually and enjoy a total of 13 paid holidays each year.
