Ethics and Business Conduct

CNFA is committed to compliance with applicable laws and regulations and requires that all its representatives adhere to our business and ethical standards.

It is the responsibility of all employees, partners, vendors, or other individuals engaged by CNFA to observe high standards of conduct and integrity when conducting their responsibilities and report any violations or suspected violations to CNFA’s Fraud Hotline directly via email at FraudHotline@cnfa.org.

Ethics and Conduct Policy

As representatives of CNFA, all employees must practice honesty, integrity and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Employees are expected to adhere to generally accepted business principles and practices in their personal and professional conduct so as not to adversely affect CNFA or its relationship with its donors, partners, and beneficiaries. This entails respect for the rights of others, arms’ length transactions, responsible use of company or project resources, and refraining from any behavior which might be viewed unfavorably or interfere with our operations or objectives, our employees, our clients/donors, or other actions which jeopardize funding and the public perception of CNFA. This includes avoiding and disclosing any conflict of interest (perceived or actual) to the CNFA Ethics Officer.

Any violation of this policy is taken seriously and constitutes grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or severance of commercial relationship with CNFA.

Trafficking In Persons (TIP) Policy

CNFA affirms its commitment to the prevention of trafficking in persons and the appropriate treatment and protection of victims of trafficking.

Trafficking in persons includes any form of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adults, whether through force or alleged consent, and any form of involuntary labor, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of threat, abduction, deception, abuse of power, or position of vulnerability or the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Under this policy, all employees are forbidden from procuring commercial sex acts, even with consenting adults in countries where doing so is legal.

CNFA strongly condemns all kinds of trafficking as they constitute acts of gross misconduct and are grounds for severe disciplinary actions, including immediate termination of employment or severance of any commercial relationship. Any violations of this policy are to be reported to the CNFA TIP hotline via email at TIPhotline@cnfa.org.

Harassment Policy

CNFA has a zero-tolerance approach to harassment of any kind and is committed to providing a working environment that is free from harassment based on race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or veteran status. Expressly forbidden are unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Depending on the circumstances, such harassment may also include conduct such as stereotyped or demeaning remarks or gestures, or the display or circulation of offensive materials or pictures, whether in writing or electronically. Submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual who is the intended subject of such harassment will in no way be considered a term or condition of joining, remaining with, or advancing within the organization, nor will it be used as a basis for employment decisions.

Sexual harassment is unlawful discrimination. It is a serious violation of CNFA policy and as such, constitutes grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
