Safiullah Ahmadi
Director, Cost and Pricing
Safiullah “Safi” Ahmadi brings more than 14 years of experience in accounting, financial management, reporting, and budgeting. As the director, Cost and Pricing, at CNFA, Ahmadi is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive, compliant, and high-quality cost strategies and proposals. His proficiency in various financial software enables him to accurately handle complex financial analysis and budgeting tasks.
He began his international development journey in 2009 as a provincial internal auditor for Deloitte in Afghanistan. Later, Ahmadi joined DT Global where he oversaw accounting, financial management, reporting, and internal auditing, ensuring strict compliance with USAID regulations and mitigating risks through comprehensive internal reviews. In 2014, Ahmadi relocated to the U.S. and joined Counterpart International, excelling in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting. He successfully managed diverse portfolios in countries such as Afghanistan, Guatemala, Guyana, Morocco, and Zambia, optimizing fund management through expert financial reporting.
In 2019, Ahmadi joined CNFA in Washington, D.C., as a project finance officer, overseeing finance, accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance for portfolios in Nigeria and Pakistan, as well as in the countries covered by CNFA’s Farmer-to-Farmer Program. He later became a financial analyst at Winrock International, preparing extensive financial reports and contributing to institutional budgeting. With his keen attention to detail and strong background in collaborating with the U.S. government and international stakeholders, Ahmadi was promoted to cost and pricing manager. In this role, he led cost strategy development and budget preparation while ensuring adherence to donor and organizational policies and procedures.
Ahmadi holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in financial management from the University of Pune in India. He is fluent in Dari, English, Pashto, and Urdu. As a dedicated father of four, his social and familial connections are particularly important to him.
