USDA West Africa Pro-Cashew Project Launches Educational Campaign To Improve Cashew Agricultural Practices
The Project will distribute cashew seedlings to smallholder farmers in Côte d’Ivoire.
The USDA Food for Progress West Africa PRO-Cashew Project (PRO-Cashew) implemented by Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA), in collaboration with the Cotton and Cashew Council (CCA), is piloting a Ciné Village campaign in Côte d’Ivoire to encourage cashew producers to adopt good agricultural practices through educational films. Through this interactive campaign, the project aims to build the capacity of smallholder cashew farmers and boost their competitiveness in production and trade.

- Dr. Ouattara Mariam, Director of Production of the Cotton and Cashew Council (CCA)
- Jean Francois Guay, Managing Director and Chief of Party, PRO-Cashew

About PRO-Cashew: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) five-year Food for Progress West Africa PRO-Cashew Project (2019-2023) aims to boost the competitiveness of West African cashew producers in Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Nigeria by improving the efficiency and quality of production and trade and by working to develop more coherent regional trade and investment policies.
