USDA West Africa Pro-Cashew Project Hosts Launch Event

PRO-Cashew aims to improve and boost the competitiveness of the West African cashew sector.

Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA), in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire and with the support of Le Conseil du Coton et de l’Anacarde, will host the official launch ceremony of the USDA West Africa PRO-Cashew Project in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The five-year United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) West Africa PRO-Cashew Project will work to boost the competitiveness of West African cashew producers in Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Nigeria by improving efficiency and quality in cashew production and trade, and by working to develop more coherent regional trade and investment policies.

Who: The launch event will include:

  • Ambassador Richard K. Bell, U.S. Embassy Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
  • Adjoumani Kouassi KOBENAN, Ministre de l’Agriculture et du Développement Rural
  • Jean Francois Guay, Chief of Party, PRO-Cashew Project

When: Thursday, November 19, 2020, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. GMT

Where: Andrew Young Center, Abidjan-Côte d’Ivoire

Notes for Media: Members of the media and all attendees, including those who will be physically present at the event, will have to comply with the provisions and information issued by the U.S. Embassy to facilitate the exercise of their work. Upon arrival at the event site, media representatives will be required to wear a face mask as part of compliance with health measures related to COVID-19.
