Private Sector Collaboration
Strengthening the enterprises that drive agricultural trade and growth.
CNFA builds the capacity of agricultural enterprises—cooperatives, SMEs, processors, agrodealers, and producer organizations—to operate as competitive, commercially viable businesses that can attract investment, meet buyer requirements, and sustain growth beyond donor support. We work directly with private sector firms to improve business planning, financial management, supply chain operations, and financial access.
Our enterprise development work delivers measurable commercial results. In Rwanda, we linked 54 buyers to 200+ cooperatives representing 104,000 farmers, facilitating $6 million in supply contracts. In Angola, technical assistance helped a cooperative leverage a $190,000 loan into $9.3 million in net annual income. We also partner with leading global firms—like Ferrero Group and Nestlé—to improve supply chain quality, food safety compliance, and commercial sourcing relationships that benefit American and international buyers. Through public-private partnerships, trade fair preparation, and business-to-business facilitation, we connect enterprises to the markets and capital they need to scale, creating durable commercial relationships that generate returns long after our programs end.
